National Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) office is pleased to welcome its new National EPFP Program Coordinator, Sarah McCann.

Sarah McCann took on the role of Education Policy Fellowship Coordinator in October 2016. In this role she provides programmatic, logistical, event management, and communications support for the National Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) and other IEL functions. She is excited to join the EPFP community and support the successful development of cross-boundary leaders. Sarah’s experience with multiple IEL networks and large events prepared her for the role and introduced her to the scope of our work.

Sarah knows that the hard work we put in is meaningful and contributes to a diverse and well-qualified education workforce. Together we are generating real results despite the tense political environment and complex challenges we face. She looks forward to working together to grow the fellowship and meet the demand for capable leaders who care about education.

Sarah joined IEL as a Coalition for Community Schools Intern and went on to support the National Forum for Community Schools and the National Family and Community Engagement Conference before her current position. Prior to joining IEL, Sarah volunteered as a teacher and consultant for United Action for Children-Cameroon and worked as a research intern at the Institute for Employment Studies. Sarah graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA in Geography and Anthropology, and an MA in Social Development focusing on the anthropology of childhood.

“We are pleased to welcome Sarah into our network. She brings diverse assets and interests that align with the mission and core tenants of EPFP. She will work to strengthen our network of nearly 9,000 alumni in all 50 states and to support one of the largest cohorts in the EPFP’s 53rd year-old history. Please welcome Sarah to the team!”
